My Definition of Responsibility in Advertisements

Responsibility: Any sort of action that is guided by truth, reason, justice, and fairness in which one must take full and proper accountability.

In today's world it is easy to find responsible and irresponsible ads.

Whenever I think of an advertising being responsible, I think of the recent "Truth" commercials because they try to persuade people away from tobacco. It's a harsh reality and depicting the negative views of smoking can instantly switch a person's opinion about such a dangerous habit. The "Truth" ads are not aimed at anyone in particular. They simply try to educate the public into making healthy decisions.

Whenever I think of an ad being irresponsible, I think of the Axe commercials because its highlights on a false reality. Girls never flock to any guy like this!!! This product specifically uses beautiful women to sell the product to men. I'll admit it- it's pretty funny. However, I could never show this work to my mother. This ad is completely out of bounds and using sex appeal is taking the easy way out. You look at the "Truth" campaign and the statistics you hear are shocking. Here, the Axe ad doesn't educate me. It simply tells me that women are objects to sell a product.
